OOTD: Welcome to the Sixties!

Monday 29 September 2014
Bag: Primark | Top: boohoo | Skirt: Miss Selfridge | Necklace: Forever 21 | Boots: ASOS | Hair Sliides: Wifty UK*

Not sure if I'm in uni to study or to blog, to be honest! I've been having loads of shoots lately and trying out different styles (plus bargain-hunting online and in the local shops) in between classes, and have been having the time of my life.

I took a leaf from Missguided's Carnaby Girl trend for today's look, which is a contemporary take on the sixties' psychedelic prints and mod shapes. I'm not too big on crazy prints and have been dressing in clean colours, but I did opt for the retro high neck and a-line skirt! I added my new Asos boots for that extra bit of height, and to finish off the Twiggy vibe.

I admit I got a bit schoolgirl-y once again with my Primark backpack and cutesy hair slides, courtesy of the ladies at Wifty UK. Isn't the little bird too delicate and adorable?

Don't forget to quote 'LAURAN10' to get a hefty 10% off your Wifty bill, which is available till mid-October! I've got my eye on this necklace and maybe these collar clips, what do you think?

OOTD: Fringe Bag

Friday 26 September 2014
Bag: Primark | Jumper: ASOS | Skirt: ASOS | Boots: ASOS |  Druzy Necklace: hollymolly* | Hat: H&M

I've been wanting a fringe accessory for ages ever since this year's festival season started, but strangely enough the summer pieces just didn't cut it for me. Imagine how I felt when I spotted this beaut at my local Primark! I hardly have any grey pieces in my wardrobe, or huge totes that can fit a laptop and other uni essentials, so it was absolutely perfect.

As you can see, I'm back to being the queen of schoolgirl looks - I did miss my short skater skirts/black tights combo while I was home for the holidays. I also invested in a new wool hat from H&M, since my old one doesn't really go with my current hairstyle. It's super cute and has a band round it, for that extra bit of detail!

OOTD: Red Brick

Wednesday 24 September 2014
Top: Missguided | Culottes: Stradivarius | Shoes: Zara | Sunglasses: ASOS | Watch: tickintorque* | Ring: Bristol Harbour Flea Market

Looks like I'm back into the swing of things here! School has officially begun, and my summer holiday brain is struggling to catch up.

I'm loving being back in Manchester, however, there's no other place like it. I opted for something more city chic with this outfit, matching brilliantly with the old-school area of red bricks and gritty streets. I'm a big fan of culottes, with this version being of a thick enough material to take it into Autumn - I think I would've died of the cold with my other polyester pair! They're also the comfiest things ever, and I think they'd go well with a pair of heeled boots and a long coat for chillier weather.

It was an adventure to shoot outdoors, having to navigate people, pets and the occasional car! Many thanks to my flatmate for the help x

OOTD: Day Trip

Sunday 21 September 2014
Dress: Hidden Fashion* // Bag: Primark // Trainers: Nike // Sunglasses: ASOS // Watch: tickintorque*

It's been a while since I posted last (what else is new?), and I'm finally back in the UK, ready to begin my final year of uni. I've been moving into my new flat, unpacking and shopping for supplies like crazy, so it was such a relief to escape the buzz of city life for a day trip to York.

Here I'm wearing something similar to my last post - the dress and Nike combination! I'm really loving my new trainers, which I can tell are going to be a staple piece in my wardrobe. The dress is an old gift from Hidden Fashion, back when I won their giveaway competition. And how smart is my gorgeous bag from Primark? It's super sturdy (my DSLR weighed almost nothing in it) and a clever dupe of an ASOS piece I've been eyeing for ages.

Have a great school year ahead, everyone! :)

OOTD: Sports Luxe

Monday 8 September 2014
Dress: Uniqlo // Necklaces: The Editor's Market and Kollidea* // Watch: tickintorque* // Bag: American Apparel // Shoes: Nike

So much for being a full-time fashion blogger - I came down with the flu almost immediately after my last post and have barely gone out as a result. It sort of put a real damper on my mood, as I'm due to return to the UK in a week and I basically spent a good portion of it in bed with the sniffles!

Maybe you can sense the impending doom with my latest outfit - I've been avoiding pastels as of late, with black being my go-to shade for this A/W season. I also finally got myself a pair of really comfy trainers, although they weren't the Roshe Runs I was looking for (sold out everywhere!). Topped off the look with statement accessories and That Iconic American Apparel Bag, with perhaps a bit too much eyeliner.

What do you all think? Anyone dreading (my last year of) uni as I am? x

Feature: OLLO

Wednesday 3 September 2014
Raymond and Debbie, the couple behind OLLO.

As seen in my latest posts, I've been sporting a new pair of sunglasses generously sponsored by a company I chanced upon at the Public Garden flea.

OLLO is run by Raymond and Debbie, optometrists who decided to offer both practicality and a quirky sense of fashion in their eyewear products. After years in an industry dominated by 'boring' designs, they realised that a niche could be found for interesting, yet flattering, eyewear. Just check out the pictures below for their full range!
